The Audiobook for Novis Terminal was published by ACX on Friday (5/15/2026) and is now available for purchase from Amazon or iTunes. I’ll be watching the sales figures over the next month or so to gauge how well Audiobooks will do. Authors have mixed results with Audiobooks, so I have no idea whether people will listen to the Audiobook version of Novis Terminal. Stay tuned.
Current Projects
I can hear what people are saying right now: “Is Daphne done?”
Technically, that’s a no. There are more Daphne stories coming. I’m still in the planning phase, so I can’t reveal much of what I’m working on (because it’s all in limbo right now). I can say that the 10-book series is done. I don’t think I can add more books to the series because I’m planning to start a new series based on the ending of To End the Silence.
What about The Robot Whisperers? That’s a complicated problem. I ran a campaign for over a month on that 2-book series. I wasn’t sure how it would do. Now that I have the numbers, I’ve discovered that the read-through was really bad. There is no future for that series as it is. Which means I’d have to fix the first book, which I will probably do in the future (maybe at the end of this year or the beginning of 2027). I know that the problem is with the first book, Frozen Logic. It’s a structural story problem. I should have rewritten it when I ran into the problem during rough drafting. Unfortunately, I thought I could fix the ending and make it work… but it didn’t. Well, if you’ve read the book, you’ll know what’s not right about it. If you didn’t read the book, you’re probably not interested in a broken book. Don’t get me wrong, the story is good. It just doesn’t quite have the punch at the end that it needed. And the end of a book sells the next one. In order to make that a viable series, I’ll have to rewrite the first book. If I do that one really well, I’ll probably need to do some major work on the second book as well.
Other Stuff…
If you’ve read any of my “about me” blurbs or the lengthy one on this website, you probably already know that I’m a software engineer. In most of the non-software world, there seem to be two camps of people who love and hate AI. In the software world, it’s just a tool that we’ve adopted and are encouraged to adopt. Anyway, I won’t bore you with the details of my worries about AI taking over my job (I’m not), but I do use AI for Ads and some other minor business-related stuff (there’s also AI built into the tools now as well, like ProWritingAid). Anyway, if you took a glance at the front page, you’ll see an AI-generated image for one of the books with a teaser blurb below it. I’m going to rotate some images in and out of that spot. If you’re curious about some of the images I generated, here are a few that I’ll be posting on Facebook and on the front page of this website. See if you can guess which scenes these images represent (click on image to make larger).
