I’m working on the first book of a new series. This series will begin right after To End the Silence. If you haven’t read the first series, fear not, I’m writing the new series such that a reader could start with the first book and not worry about the older ones. Here’s the first book’s cover:

I can’t say much about this book without giving away spoilers in the existing books. I put the Books in Progress page back up, but it has only a teaser blurb (not the full blurb). I’m still thinking through the blurb and might change it before the book is published.

Belisar is a planet in the book To End the Silence. If you haven’t read any of the Daphne books, you could theoretically start with The Missing Link, read To End the Silence, and continue right into this new series. Or, you can just start with The Belisar Gambit (when it’s published).

When will The Belisar Gambit be published?

I’m targeting July, probably late July, but the publication date might be pushed into August (I have a vacation planned for the last week of July into August). The reason this book doesn’t have a hard-and-fast publication date, unlike most books I work on, is that it’s the first in a new series. What that means is I’m also plotting the basics of the next 9 books in the series. In fact, I already have plans for the second book, as well as the ninth and tenth books. I have no idea what will be in books 3 through 8. Not yet. I would like to have that nailed down before publishing this book, but I might not get it completed. Fortunately, I have a destination to reach, so there’s a target that I’m aiming for that’ll happen in book 10.

I’m dying to tell more, but there are aspects of this story that are up in the air, characters who will appear that I don’t want to mention, and details that would be spoilers. For those who have finished the Chronicles of Daphne Blazefire series, you can deduce what the new series will be about just by the planet name (Belisar) and the “Freedom Fighters” series name.
