Progress with Nathanael

Escape from the Abyss book 5, Nathanael

I’m still ahead of schedule on this book. It’s always good to start off ahead rather than behind. I’m currently at 34,000 words (I just started writing for today). I plan to be over 36,000 words by the time I quit writing. Maybe more. Using the deep first-person view for the protagonist is working really well. I might actually hit the 50% completed point this week. That means I’m on track to finish this book near the end of April.

Don’t forget that Kindle Book One (The Archons) is still set to a price of 99 cents. I’ll be adjusting the price back to normal at the end of April.

I’m still not sure what book six will be about. There will be a book six for certain, but it might end up being the last book of the series or next to last (I like the idea of a 7-book series). I’ll try to noodle on that over the next week so I can get a jump on the pre-planning. Don’t be fooled, though. I have a list of subjects I was planning to write about. I may combine several of those subjects together into one book or I could dream up something completely new.

The Traveler Trilogy

If you’re looking for a series that is complete, the Traveler Trilogy is all wrapped up. There is the possibility of a future book or future trilogy to follow on from that story, but I don’t have any concrete plans at the moment.

Other Books

I have other book ideas that I could take up near the end of the year. I have to clear the decks of any works in progress, which includes the Abyss series. But I’m toying with the idea of writing a few stand-alone books. I’ll use those to determine what would make a good series. Writing a chronicle is definitely a possibility. It’s nice to have a group of well-developed characters that can be used in several stories. That’s what I like about writing a series. The first book builds the characters then the subsequent books build the story.

Stay tuned…
