The Home Stretch…

The Traveler

It’s been a really busy couple of weeks. My wife and I did the read-out-loud for book two last weekend. I still have numerous fixes I need to perform on that book. I just finished the first read-through and editing of book three. The read-out-loud will be done this weekend and I’ll wrap up the editing from the results of that next week. I should be able to publish both books by Friday (March 15th) at the latest.

The trilogy wraps up the whole story into a nice bow, but it also leaves the possibility of another book (or books) that could follow. I don’t currently have any plans to write a fourth book. It all depends on how popular the trilogy becomes, and book four would have to wait until the Abyss series is complete. This is the last time I’ll do two series at the same time.

My original timeline projected that I’d publish by the 12th, and it looks like I’m going to be close to that deadline. The weekend after, I’ll probably roll right into book five of the Abyss series. Story ideas have been bouncing around in my head, and I need to get things on paper (well, in Scrivener). I have notes.

It’s going to take some adjustment to get back into the characters of that series. According to my projections, if I start the rough draft on the 18th (or later in the week), book five should be published by June. Book six would be in September. Maybe. This means a potential book seven would be at the end of the year or January. I’m going to play that by ear.
