Escape from The Abyss – Nathanael

I’m closing in on the final scene of the book. I anticipate that I’ll be done with the rough draft this week and will be re-reading and editing soon after. The total word count is lower than I expected. I ended up changing a section that I didn’t like. Two scenes ended up scrapped. The new scenes are much better, and the story overall is really good.

I have a title for the next book but not a cover yet. The working title so far is “Hopeless.” I have a rough idea of how I’m going to wrap up the series. Of course, anybody could predict in general how it’ll end. They’ll arrive at the colonies and celebrate, woot! OK, that would be lame. No, there must be a final battle, and it has to be epic. So that’ll take some thinking. Will they battle the Archons just before arriving home or after they arrive? Of course, if the Archons attack them after they reach the colonies, then it’ll have to be do-or-die. Nobody can just run away anymore, and the colonies will have to participate in their own defenses. The nail-biting part of the story will be how it unfolds.
