Dust Bargain, Work Begins

I just returned from a lengthy vacation. The days I took off were part of my computations for the schedule of Dust Bargain, so I didn’t lose any writing days. In fact, I just started the rough draft and am already almost a thousand words ahead of schedule (as of this writing). Tomorrow is a bank holiday, which I’m hoping gives me a large chunk of writing time. It would be nice to get about 8k words ahead of schedule. If I’m lucky, I can get the rough draft done before Thanksgiving.

I’m still thinking about my next project. Rewriting Dangerous Cargo is a maybe. I’m not sure that would be a good use of my writing time. What I should do is write the next Robot Whisperer book. That would give readers a better idea of where that story will be going. The first book sort of sets the stage for the characters. Who they are, and what their quirks are. It also sets up one of the series’ subplots. I have other subplots that I want to weave into the series, and a second book would go a long way to establish the second subplot. One thing’s for sure, I need to decide quickly and get a cover ordered.

I also need to decide on the next Daphne book. I’ll need to round out this series with 10 books. Then I need to make the big decision of what the next Daphne series will be called and what the first book of that series will be. One thing is for sure: I don’t have a shortage of story ideas.
