Sci-Fi Book Writing

I’m almost done with my five-book cozy series, The Q mysteries. The fifth book will be complete by the first or second week of May. I’ve also written about 26,000 words on a second release of Novis Terminal. I’ve been adding a thousand words here and there as I’ve had extra time. It’s about a third of the way complete, and the story is spectacular. I really like the feel of this story, but we’ll see how it fares when we do the Read-Out-Loud. I’m not certain when this book will be published, but I suspect it’ll be available before Shadows in the Bloodline. I expect that one to be published near the end of June, maybe early July.

After that, I don’t have any commitments. Yet. I suspect I’ll have enough data from the sales of The Q Mysteries before Bloodline is published. By then, I’ll have more commitments and covers ordered. I have this feeling that I’ll be alternating between Q Mysteries and Daphne stories. But only time will tell.

Of course, I’ll make an announcement here when I find out what I’ll be writing next. But for now, I’m committed to the final Q Mystery (The Deadly Design), followed by Bloodline, with the second release of Novis Terminal in there somewhere. If the new Novis Terminal takes off like hot-cakes, then I’ll be stuck. I’ll have to create second release versions of the other four original Daphne books. Not that I don’t want to do that, but that’ll be a ton of work. It’ll be worth it if they sell better and people enjoy them.

It takes me about a month for a Q Mystery book and two months to write a Daphne book. Which means that a rewrite of four Daphne books and five more Q Mysteries would be completed around… June 2026ish?
