Writing Progress…

Desperate Action

I’m making good progress on this book. The rough draft is at 29k. It’s around half-written. I had a few days where I wrote words on other stories, which took some days away from this one, but I’m still making good progress. I should be done with the rough draft in another week and a half, maybe less. I have a bank holiday on Monday and I have writing plans for that day. Hopefully, I can dedicate the whole day to break my previous one-day record of 12k words. I’m shooting for 15k, but I’ll take what I can get.

Other Books

I put some words into Daphne. The rough draft for that book is at 20k words right now. It’s probably going to conclude at around 40k words. Then I’ll come up with a cover and get it out the door.

I was up last night with about thirty minutes to kill. I decided to toss together another short story. I chose one from my list of ideas and started another MacKenzie Steele short story called: Cargo Pirates. This is a Sergeant Swift story and it’s going to be gritty. No comical pirates that say “arrgh.” The space marines are on a mission to intercept a cargo ship that pirates have taken over. The pirates are holding a family (that owns the ship) hostage. It’ll be a quick in-and-out mission, where Sergeant Swift and his merry band drop in and fix things. Yeah. I only wrote the first scene, so far, but it all falls apart shortly after. This short story might not be as short as the last one titled Alien Surprise Attack (6k). I have quite a bit of material in my head and I’m focused on character and scene details.

I still need to come up with some covers. Stay tuned.
