The Demons
It’s been a good week for writing. I managed to knock out almost 10k words during the week. I still have 22 scenes to finish for the rough draft (there’s a possibility more scenes will need to be added). Once I’m done with the rough draft, I have to go back over my notes (that I took while writing the draft) and fill in the details I missed. Then I have to do a final read-through to see if anything is messed up. You know, stuff happens when you write a book over several months’ time, and some of these scenes were written back in May of 2022. Though, I did a read-through starting January 1st and edited the earlier scenes before starting where I had left off. I really should avoid writing part of a book and setting it aside for so long. Probably never going to happen, since I have several other books that I wrote partially (to be honest, I would probably rewrite any old books from scratch since I have more practice and know some new writing techniques).
I did a quick estimate and added the 83k words that I’ve written so far and assumed 1,500 words per scene, on average. That comes out to about 120k words for the novel. At 84k, I think this is the largest book I’ve written so far.
I just finished writing two of the most intense scenes in the book. I’m into Act II right now and I think I’m going to have nightmares about these scenes.
Don’t forget Desperate Action is still 99 cents. I’m not sure how much longer I’ll leave it at that price, so get it fast.
And, last, I update the Books in Progress page every day if you want to check in on the progress of The Demons.
