I’m still working on the five-book Q Mystery cozy series of books under my pen name (Elliot Droit). I’m currently on the fourth book of the series called Ghost Falls Killings. My spreadsheet predicts that the book will be done by mid-March. Then I have one more book to complete (The Deadly Design). Once that book is done (sometime in April or early May), I’ll start on Shadows of the Bloodline. I have approximately half of the scenes plotted out. I know what the major plot twists are going to be. The plot twists are good. You won’t even know what hit ya!

I suspect Shadows will take about two months to write. That’ll be a 70k-word book. Pretending that my estimates are right (I’m usually early, but I’ve had a couple of books come in late), that means this book will be published in late June or early July. Those dates are quite a ways out there, so the certainty factor is low.

I’m running TikTok Ads right now and have shut down all of my Facebook and Amazon Ads. My purpose is to gauge how effective TikTok is and learn how to do it. Every advertising strategy has a learning curve, and it’s more difficult than it initially seems. I’m running some tests, but finding sounds that move the needle is difficult.

I wanted to maintain a steady stream of newsletters, maybe one per month, but I spend as much time as I can on the book writing first, and then I blog to give people notice that I’m still alive, even though they may not notice any changes (it takes so long to write a book). Setting up a newsletter takes me extra time, so I avoid those unless I have an announcement, like a newly published book.

Sometimes, I’m not sure what to write about, so I just write about the books I’m currently working on, which is probably what most people want to hear about.
