The book is still ahead of schedule. I’m up by almost 7k words. At one point I was ahead by 8k words, but I dropped down when work around the house chewed up my writing time. At least I’ve been able to fill in more than my 2k words per day on weekdays. That’s been a boost to my productivity.
Now that I’m 72k words into the story, I’m closing in on the last blank scenes. I have quite a few TODOs that I placed into previous scenes to insert details I now need for scenes I’m writing to wrap up the story. I’ve done a pretty good job of looping back and fixing previous scenes near the beginning of the book. I intend to correct a scene or two per day to get caught up. According to my spreadsheet, I think I’ll be into editing in the first week of September, which starts at the end of next week. It’s coming fast, like a freight train. Hopefully, the editing won’t be too bad this time, since I spent so much time looping back and re-reading small parts of my text before continuing on.
I haven’t written any more stories for the blog yet, but I have ideas. No promises on that.
