Daphne

I finished the rough draft of Daphne yesterday. That book is headed to the editor. I expect it will be ready in Early January as a free book. The word count came out to 31k, which makes it a small novel. That will conclude my work on the Daphne Blazefire series for a while.

There are still some loose ends that I will tie off someday when I write book 6 and maybe more. Here is the list of major plot threads that are just screaming for a book:

  1. Memories in Rusty’s brain that he cannot access. You all know that will tie into a story of its own. Those memories must be something really important (otherwise, why would I mention them in two different books?)
  2. Daphne’s family. What happened to them? Does he have a sibling? I have a rough idea of a book for that subject alone.
  3. Dr. Hayden. Yeah, I didn’t just put him in a witness protection program so he can live the rest of his life in peace. I have an entire book idea for that story.
  4. I left the future of Roberta out there. She appeared once in Dangerous Cargo. She’s a character that has extensive training with firearms. That will come in handy in a future story.
  5. Also in Dangerous Cargo were the mom and daughter, Jin and Yoshii. They make it to a planet called Miri, but I have a book planned about something happening to them there.

So, yeah. There’s a lot of material to work with. I’ll probably do one book a year or maybe one per six months. Depending on sales of the Daphne Blazefire series, The Traveler series, and the Escape from the Abyss series. I left a few antagonists out there as well. They’ll show up along the way.

Escape from the Abyss

I finally got my backlog of books cleared and I’m prepping for the new series. My first task is to get the artwork done for the companion book called The Tome of Revelations. I’ll be hand-sketching five different temples that will be in the Tome and referenced in the series. Once I get the sketches to my liking, I’ll finish the tome and get it ready for publishing. It’ll be a free giveaway that will be referenced inside each book of the abyss series.

I’m keeping my fingers crossed that I can get the Tome done so I’m all clear to finish the rough draft for the first book called The Demons. I’m not going to line up any new projects until the rough draft for that book is complete. Though, technically, I already have The Traveler series started and will most likely write the second book for that one right after this book.

Amazon has these cool A+ content pages that authors can add to their series. I did the artwork for the Abyss series, so here’s a preview of what it will probably look like:

Oh, yeah. This is going to be fun!
