Making Good Progress…

Escape from the Abyss – Book 2

I’m still cranking out words for the rough draft. I’ve managed to keep my daily average close to 3k words. I had estimated that I would achieve 38,000 words by next Wednesday, but I’ve crossed that line today. That means that the rough draft is almost 1/3 done. I’m not going to shrink my schedule, unless I complete the rough draft and the editing looks good. Otherwise, I suspect the weather will turn nice and my weekends will be consumed by hiking. To keep on my original schedule, I have to bank some of the work ahead of time, then I can slack off at a later time. Keeping my fingers crossed that I can create a quality story in 2 months instead of 3. That would give me the flexibility to produce more books for this series before the end of the year. Otherwise, producing 4 books a year means… it’ll take 5 years to finish this series. Six books a year would cut it significantly. Not to mention the question of when to get back to The Traveler series. One way or another, I’ll have to slip in the second book for that series.

No pressure there…

Other stuff…

I fixed the pop-up and embedded forms to remove Daphne from the list of books for the signup form. You can get Daphne for free over at Smashwords. I’ll probably move Neutron Star as well.

I received my author copy of The Archons the other day and was horrified at how the cover wrapped. The title text was wrapped around the left side. Sigh. So I unpublished the paperback book, tweaked the cover, and re-published it. If it doesn’t show up on Amazon, it’s on its way.

Don’t forget that the book progress bar on the right side of the website is a live indicator of my writing progress. I update that every day that I write. Just trying to hold my own feet to the fire.

Oh, and The Archons is still at 99 cents for the Kindle eBook. It’ll remain at that price until Friday, 5/12/2023. Then it’ll go to the regular price.
