Hopeless is on its way

Hopeless, book six from the Escape from the Abyss series has just been published. The eBook has been published, and the paperback will follow by tomorrow night. It’s still in “Review” right now, but Amazon is pretty quick about reviewing books and making them live. I expect it’ll be live around 10 pm Eastern time tonight (7/21/2024).

This book is 95,000 words long and written from a first-person, deep point of view from Commander Evans, the XO. I really like the way this story turned out. It’s quite the nail-biter. It’s also the last book before the final battle between the humans and the Archons. At least the final battle of this series. There is a possible follow-on series or story that I could do in the future where the two societies clash for their survival. I’m not sure if I’ll ever write such a story, but it could happen.

The next book will be the last of the series. Book seven is titled “Final Match.” I’ll start the rough draft this week. I have Wednesday off (it’s a Utah bank holiday called Pioneer Day), so I should be able to put a good dent in the total words written this week. I still have to get my notes organized and finish my planning. I have Monday and Tuesday to wrap that up (no pressure).

I worked up a rough schedule for book seven, and it looks like it’ll be published in October. I’m keeping my fingers crossed that it’ll be mid-October, maybe earlier.

As I mentioned in my previous post, new covers are coming for the Abyss series. When I get those switched over, I’ll post the new covers here on this blog so everyone can see what they’ll look like on Amazon. I’m sure I’ll get them up on the books soon after I post them here.
