Editing Stolen Property

It took me 6 days of editing, but I’m finally done with the first pass. The book currently sits at 55,791. My next task is to do a quick run with ProWritingAid. I may do a deep analysis of the critical scenes and then Michelle and I will spend time reading through and correcting things. If there’s a scene that she thinks isn’t impactful enough, then I’m determined to amp it up. So our shared editing sessions might go on for some time.

Meanwhile, I’m planning to pour some words into Daphne. This is the prequel book that will be given away for free to anyone who signs up for my mailing list. Once I complete that book, I’ll have to go back and change the backmatter in all of the Daphne books to point people to the reader magnet. Fortunately, I already have 12k words written for that book. I plan to make it into a full-length novel. Unlike Neutron Star, which is only 4k in length.

I anticipate that Stolen Property will be released in a couple of weeks, maybe three weeks max. Then the Daphne book will follow sometime in October? Wow, this year is coming to an end fast. If Daphne is published in October, then Supercomputer will come out near the end of the year. Maybe I can push myself and get it out in time for Christmas.
