Desperate Action – Published!

I just hit the publish button on this book. That’s a good feeling. Finally out the door. The status on the Kindle author dashboard still says “In Review,” so it could be a while before it shows up in the store. I’ll do the paperback version tomorrow sometime. The paperback should be ready by Tuesday.

I have notes and ideas for book 2. If you read the first book, you’ll pick up on some threads that I purposely left hanging. They’re not exactly “cliffhangers,” but they’re definitely incomplete storylines and you can be sure that I have more story to tell in book 2 and beyond.

Daphne

Instead of plowing into the second book of The Traveler series, I’ll be going off the rails for a bit. First up is the book titled Daphne. This is the free prequel book to the Daphne Blazefire series I’ve been promising forever. I’m still working through the first half that I already wrote and gearing up to write the rest of it. Keeping my fingers crossed, I hope to have it done before New Year’s day. Holidays tend to mess stuff up though. Too many unpredictable events. It’s all good.

Escape from the Abyss series

This series has been on the back burner for far too long. It worked out for the best though, because I’ve let the story percolate in the back of my mind since January and I managed to record notes of what I want to do with the series. I put some time in last week to push The Tome of Revelations to completion. I’ll release that for free before the first book of the series, but it’ll probably be close to the same time. I have to do some artwork for the book as well. It’ll be fun.

I’m not sure when the first book, called The Demons, will be released. The first book of any series is something I have to carefully plan through, so it takes extra time. If I were to guess at a release month, maybe March? I don’t see why I can’t achieve a deadline sometime in March, but you never know. I’ll have a better idea of when it’ll be released once I get back into it and can plot out how much more of the story has to be completed. I have half of the rough draft completed for book one. The second half is going to be quite the story and I’m just itching to write it. But I must stay focused!

MacKenzie Steele series short story #22

This story will be titled Cargo PIrates. I’m not sure where I’m going to cram that story in. Probably on a weekend when I want a diversion from the grind of a long story. I might take a short break in January and just hammer it out. My gut tells me that it might turn into a longer story. Maybe 40k in length. My intention is to write a 10k-15k story. We’ll see how it develops.

Stay tuned.
