I’m running a free promo for Rogue Phoenix this week. That means that you can (and should) run out and download the free Kindle version of this book and save it for future reading. It’ll be listed as free from today (Labor Day, 9/1/2025) until Friday (9/5/2025). If you miss out (and today’s date is after 9/5), never fear! ‘Cause it’ll come around again in about 90 days.

I run these crazy promos when books that are not getting any reader love are eligible. Amazon allows authors who are enrolled in KU to put their books on 5 days free every 90 days. There is a 99-cent promo that can be used as well. Authors can promote their books at 99 cents for 7 days every 90 days. I’ve run the 90-day promo before, but those always turn into readers that are not really looking for the books I write (that’s the impression I get). I always garner a large number of 1 and 2-star reviews during 99-cent promos. When people download them for free, they never complain, and I suspect most don’t read the books. Even I’m guilty of downloading free stuff, never to go back and read them. Some of the readers do come back and read the rest of the series (if I promote the first book) in KU. It’s all good.
