The Missing Link
As of Friday night, I just passed the halfway point of editing scenes for The Missing Link. This book is going pretty smooth and I expect the Read-Out-Loud to happen next weekend (2/28/2026 through 3/1/2026). That means that there is a very good chance that The Missing Link will be published on 3/1/2026. As soon as this book is published, I’m planning to roll right into the planning for To End the Silence, Daphne Blazefire book 10.
Website Changes
I went over the front page of this website and altered some of the objects that WordPress uses for image organization. The TL;DR is that I fixed the images so they show properly on an iPhone (or other small screen). There used to be a large vertical gap where invisible images wrapped. I put the invisible images in to force the width to contain exactly 5 book covers wide on a PC browser (like Chrome). There is a column object that does the same job and doesn’t suffer from the wrap. In fact, the images shrink down to fit on a small screen and look pretty good.
Now I have to go back to the Books page and fix all the 5-column setups there. That’s going to take some time because I have to add the URL links for each book after reorganizing them into the column object.
I also removed the Abyss series books and the Traveler series of books from the front page. Those are not currently being advertised, so I don’t see much traffic on the website for those books. When they were displayed on an iPhone, the screen scrolled forever. So, out they go!
I’m playing with the current book progress widget position as well. I might put it at the very top, but I haven’t decided on that yet. Maybe I can fit the widget and the newsletter sign-up thingy next to each other at the top.
