The Missing Link
This book will be published on Sunday night (assuming nothing major goes wrong and has to be rewritten). It has been on the back burner for the week because the next step is to do the Read-Out-Loud, where my wife and I swap turns reading a chapter out loud.
In the meantime, I’ve been working out the scenes and plotting the next book, To End the Silence. I’m hoping to have the next book ready to go on Monday, the 2nd of March. That’s when I’ll be off to the races and start rough-drafting the book.
Audiobook
As I mentioned in a previous post, I’ve decided to pay someone to record the Audiobook version of Novis Terminal. I’ll start with that book and see how it performs. This could be a double-edged sword, because there are probably readers who won’t start a series if there’s only one audiobook, but I’ll figure it out. I’m at the beginning of the process. I have a few offers out for female voice actors. Once I hear back from one, I’ll have a rough idea of when the audiobook will be ready to publish. According to ACX, it takes about 6 to 8 weeks to produce a book that size, which comes out to just over 7 hours of finished audio.
I assume that the first audiobook will be the hardest. I managed to get the account set up, I have the artwork for the final product, and now all I have to do is hire a person to do the recording. Hopefully, fingers crossed, I can hire the same person to do all the books. That way, every book will have the same voice and be consistent.
